Canvas is a year-round fabric in most of India and barring hot summer months, it can be usable in mild to cool weather. It's substantial enough for cool mornings and hill town evenings, yet breathes well enough for Pune or Bangalore winters. It's not a replacement for a heavy winter coat in extreme cold, but it's a reliable layer for 8–9 months of the year across most of the country.

Natural cotton canvas can shrink 3–5% on the first wash. To minimise this, wash in cold water and air dry flat. We cut our jackets with this in mind, so if you follow the care instructions, the fit remains true to size.

Yes, intentionally so. Raw cotton canvas has a structured body that softens over weeks of wear. Think of it like a new pair of raw denim — it starts firm and shapes itself to you. By the end of the first month, it moves with you rather than against you.

Yes. Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused, unwashed, and has all tags intact. Sale and clearance items are not eligible.

Returns - if approved after inspection, a full refund including GST is issued to your original payment method — not as store credit — minus a nominal ₹100 shipping fee.

Exchanges - once approved you'll receive store credit for the full product value including GST, redeemable against any future purchase on theruggedsoul.com, minus the same ₹100 shipping fee.

Once we have it, we'll share a full breakdown of shipping costs (the garment base cost will be the same as what you see in INR converted to your currency) and any applicable customs duties before you commit to the order — no surprises landing at your door. International shipments are also subject to factors outside our control — geopolitical disruptions, customs delays, and the like — which we'll be transparent about as well.

Because managing returns across borders isn't practical for either party, we won't be able to offer the same return and exchange window that applies to domestic orders. To make sure we get the fit right the first time, we'll ask you for some detailed measurements before the order is confirmed — chest, shoulders, and ideally the measurements of an existing jacket or shirt that fits you well and comfortably. This way we can match you to the right size with confidence before anything ships.
